Went there for the first time and everything was great. The food was freshly cooked, the egg rolls we're the best. I know that one would expect every place you ordered Chinese from would be fresh, but this must have been cooked to order as it was much better than any cjinese restaurant in the area, give it a try!

I’ve ordered from here a number of times in the last year. No matter what time I call or how much I order, they always say “ready in 10 minutes,” which is amazing. It’s barely enough time to hop in the car and drive there! Consistently, the food has been good and the prices are affordable. Overall I think it’s reliable and for good value. I’ve tried a variety of menu items and have enjoyed them all. The one that stands out the most is ma po tofu. I’ve never had any issues with surprise pricing when using a credit card, as noted by others. I pay over the phone and they charge me the menu price of the items. Only good things to say about china East.

Don't underestimate this plainly decorated small restaurant . food is very authentic and delicious. The fact you see Asian students from UCONN picking up takeout should tell you how good it is!!!Portions are just the right size. One of the fresh egg roll I have ever tasted!

We've been ordering here for a few years now. Typical Chinese 'fast food'. Never had anything bad and the food is always good. If ordering in the area, would definitely recommend.

Great place! I go here all of the time. I think the critics don't understand what a real nasty restaurant truly is because this place has great food, clean, and very nice.

The staff are very nice! In willimantic Tyler Square not Mansfield.. The girl who answered my call was very nice and they speak good English.They never get my order wrong and the veggies are crispy and fresh.The whole or half fried chicken is really good especially with the plantain fried "Tostones" they will give you extra smashed up garlic for them if you ask..it's delicious! Also like the new size of the eggroll in there combo meals there smaller and not a speck of grease on them, I loved that a lot! The Shrimp an Chinese vegetables is lite and very good, the shrimps were nice and juicy and large! Yeah I've been going there for years..wish they would put fresh whole fried fish on the menu though especially good in summer there isn't one restaurant in this area that has that on the menu! I think it would sell really well especially if it was seasoned well with a side off fresh cut fries and a Chinese slaw! I can only dream!

Honestly if you grew up with OG Chinese from the city and want that taste again, then this place is the one. Best one closest to UConn. It’s a 8 min drive from campus but is so worth it. Out of all the ones near campus this is the top one for me.

China East us my favorite Chinese takeout place in the area. Service is always prompt and speedy and whenever I do a pick up order, my food is ready before I get there, no matter the size of order. And their food and portion size is always excellent and the prices are decent. My favorite dish to get there is the General Tso chicken, because their sauce is actually spiced very well (and not just a slightly sweet sauce with a few tiny chilis tossed in like other places) - my lips are humming by the time I'm done eating.
